AFAIK, Android studio doesn't bundle jdk...

Assuming the following is the app, it doesn't support android auto, despite in the description it says it does.

It says it supports Android Auto. Now that you don't find it to be working as you expect, why not contact the developer? Or you could have a look at the source and try to tweak it as you wish - which is why I posted the link to GitHub rather than the Playstore.

Cos there's no playlist creation option in that app, and is listed as a beta
